Kohima: MLA Mhathung Yanthan and MLA Y Mhonbemo Humtsoe visited Fernbrook School in Wokha on September 10. They arrived with Deputy Commissioner Mhathung Tsanglao and Superintendent of Police Relo T Aye to tour the campus. The team met with students, teachers, and school administrators to discuss the future. They want more than grades.
Yanthan pushed students to build character alongside their studies. He told the assembly, "Education must go beyond academics." Students should focus on perseverance, faith, and leadership. Yanthan also thanked the faculty for their passion. He said teaching requires deep patience to properly shape young minds.
Humtsoe reminded the crowd to stay disciplined. He urged pupils to grab every opportunity provided by the school and show deep respect for their instructors. The Deputy Commissioner, Tsanglao, echoed these sentiments. He told the students that consistent effort leads to big wins. He warned that success is not just money. He asked them to value honesty, compassion, and integrity above all else.
Managing Director Rushamo Tsopoe outlined the school's goals. The institution holds prayer fellowships for parents and staff while running specific guidance programs. They aim to help students navigate life after graduation. The school also organizes educational trips to broaden horizons and help those in need. The visit gave local officials a front-row seat to the school's progress.
