Kohima: Nihoto K. Yepthomi of Sukhalu village rescued a Slow Loris and handed it over to the Zunheboto District Tourism Association. The organization assessed the animal before setting it free in the Sukhai Biodiversity Conservation Area. It is back in the wild.
The association thanked Nihoto and his neighbors for stepping up to protect the local wildlife. They urged people to stop keeping wild creatures as pets. If you see a displaced or hurt animal, call the authorities instead.
ZTDA officials noted that local cooperation is the only way to save the region's animals. The group stated, "Collective efforts by local communities remain vital in safeguarding Nagaland’s unique wildlife heritage for future generations."
