Kohima: Nihoto K. Yepthomi found an endangered Slow Loris in Sukhalu village on Saturday. He acted fast. He handed the creature over to the Zunheboto District Tourism Association to get it the right care.
The association moved quickly. They consulted with local officials and released the animal into the wild at the Sukhai biodiversity conservation area. The move protects the animal and helps regional conservation.
The group thanked Yepthomi and the people of Sukhalu village for their help. They want locals to stop keeping wild animals as pets. If you spot a hurt or lost animal, tell the authorities immediately.
The association highlighted the need for local input. "Collective efforts by local communities play a vital role in safeguarding Nagaland's unique wildlife heritage for future generations," it stated.
