Guwahati: Union Ministers Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Kiren Rijiju are traveling to Dhemaji. They want to see the flood damage firsthand. The ministers plan to evaluate current relief and rehabilitation efforts across the district.

Assam Cabinet Minister Atul Bora led a high-level review meeting on July 1 to prepare for their arrival. He confirmed the focus remains on the district's response to the disaster. "The meeting focused on preparedness for the Union Ministers' visit and the ongoing flood response in the district," Bora said.

Local leadership attended the session. Participants included Assam Minister Ranoj Pegu, Lakhimpur MP Pradan Baruah, and several MLAs. Representatives from various autonomous councils, the BJP, the Asom Gana Parishad, and the Sonowal Kachari Students' Association also showed up. Senior police and district officials joined them to map out the upcoming inspection.
