Shillong: A coal-laden truck flipped near Lad Mawprem in Jaiaw Langsning during the early hours of Friday. The crash happened at 2:50 am. Local CCTV cameras recorded the heavy vehicle, marked ML 07 C 4844, tipping over on the road. The driver abandoned the wreckage and vanished into the night.
East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner Abhilash Baranwal confirmed the coal originated in West Khasi Hills. The district administration is moving fast. They have already launched legal action and issued a summons to the owner of the truck. Regarding the ongoing investigation, Baranwal stated, "The driver remains at large."
