Tripura Police Ramp Up Security for 2026 Village Committee Polls

Agartala: Tripura Inspector General of Police Ipper Manchak arrived in South Tripura to tighten the screws on security. He chaired a high-level briefing with the Superintendent of Police, the Additional SP, local SDPOs, and Central Armed Police Forces commanders. The meeting focused on the 2026 TTAADC Village Committee elections. Officials mapped out the security situation to guarantee the ballot remains secure.

Manchak set a hard line for his officers. He demanded a zero-tolerance policy against anyone trying to stir up trouble or disrupt the vote. The IG ordered forces to identify sensitive areas and boost troop presence immediately. Preventive measures are now top priority to build voter confidence.

Police must work in lockstep with the Central Armed Police Forces. Coordination is the key to preventing violence. The IG directed his commanders to stay sharp and ready for any emerging threats during the election season.
