South Tripura Election Officials Secure Strong Rooms for Upcoming Polls

Agartala: South Tripura District Magistrate Mohammad Sajjad P and Superintendent of Police Saurabh Kumar C checked the status of strong rooms on Wednesday. They followed orders from the Tripura State Election Commission. Block Development Officers and Sector Officers joined the inspection team to verify preparations.

The group visited several sites. They audited the Agriculture Sector Office in Ratanpur, the Shaheed Dhananjay Smriti English Medium School in South Jolaibari, and the Bir Chandra Manu Shaheed Smriti Vidyamandir Higher Secondary School. The team also inspected Baga Chatla High School and Kashari RDFC. Sajjad P reviewed security measures and logistical infrastructure at each location.

Officials aim for a smooth process. They must follow all electoral protocols to keep the vote free and fair. The upcoming TTAADC Village Committee General Election is set for September 28, 2026. The commission notes, "The district administration has directed all officials concerned to strictly adhere to the prescribed electoral protocols and security measures."

This election covers 52 of the 58 state blocks. Voters will decide 587 village committees. The process spans 2,634 electoral constituencies and 4,597 seats. The administration designated 1,550 polling stations to handle the turnout.
