Agartala: Tripura Police kicked off a 3,000-kilometer motorcycle expedition from Agartala on Thursday morning. The ride aims to promote national unity and a drug-free India. The contingent departed the A.D. Nagar Police Ground at 8:45 am. Their final destination is Ekta Nagar in Kevadia, Gujarat.
Tripura Director General of Police in-charge G.S. Rao flagged off the event. Senior police officials and state force officers stood by to watch them leave. The riders will cross multiple states and regions throughout the trip. This mission supports the National Motorcycle Rally 2026, held to honor Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. This national holiday occurs every October 31 to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Rao stated that the ride is a symbolic mission for national integrity. Drugs remain a massive danger to youth and the country's future. Police forces, Central Armed Police Forces, and security agencies across the nation are joining the effort. Rao urged a broad approach to stop the trade. "Along with enforcement, we must strengthen awareness, preventive actions, community participation and rehabilitation-oriented approaches," Rao said.
The campaign demands more than just police work. Families and schools must step up to help. Success requires a collective fight from every community member.
