Guwahati: Fifty bikers roared through Doomdooma, Assam, on Sunday to demand an end to molestation and victim-blaming. Riders from Assam and Arunachal Pradesh gathered in Tinsukia district to challenge the habit of shielding abusers. The event operated under the banner of the Ride Against Molestation, Aakhir Galti Kiski Hai? campaign.

Three organizations fueled the protest: the Independent Bikerani Brigade, the Independent Riders Group, and the Ride All Queens Assam Motorcycle Club. They took to the streets to defend the right of women to live without fear. Doomdooma Municipal Board chairperson Kanta Bhattacharya flagged off the procession. They want accountability. Advocates for the cause insist that survivors deserve justice, not scrutiny.

One participant captured the spirit of the day at the rally. "Women’s freedom will be meaningful only when they can live freely, safely and without fear. True freedom means being able to live with dignity and without the threat of harassment or violence," the rider stated. The group emphasized that these protections must start early to shield children from future trauma.

Chief guest and Tinsukia-based advocate Jugamaya Phukan addressed the crowd. She detailed the legal rights of women and the specific laws governing sexual harassment. The bikers aim to spread this legal awareness across the state. They want to tear down the social attitudes that protect offenders. The rally signaled a shift in tone. Perpetrators are the only ones at fault.
