Manipur Police Riders Launch Nationwide Unity Motorcycle Rally

Imphal: Manipur Police launched a motorcycle rally Tuesday from the state police headquarters in Mantripukhri, Imphal. The event honors the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India. Riders set out toward Ekta Nagar in the Narmada District of Gujarat. They plan to meet participants from every state to mark Rashtriya Ekta Diwas 2026.

The journey carries two messages. Riders are pushing the theme of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat to promote national unity. They are also highlighting the Nasha Mukt Bharat anti-drug campaign. The mission is critical. Manipur faces a persistent drug menace, and officials see this rally as a key part of the fight against addiction.

DGP Mukesh Singh flagged off the riders. He stressed the importance of the mission to the crowd. He noted, "Our team of bike riders, taking part in the rally, symbolizes our commitment to national integration, discipline, teamwork and public service undertaking a long and arduous journey across different states, right from the eastern end to the western end of the country."

IG M and N Sector CRPF, Amol V. Homkar, attended the start. The rally made its first stop at Sapermeina in Kangpokpi district on Tuesday. Personnel from the 94 Battalion CRPF greeted the riders with garlands and bouquets. Commandant Ashok Kumar Singh led the welcome, sharing refreshments and support for the long ride ahead. Officers offered their best wishes for a safe trip to Gujarat.
