Agartala: Tripura Pradesh BJP president Abhishek Debroy put the state’s women wing on notice this week. He wants the Mahila Morcha to drive the party to victory in the 2028 assembly elections. He set these expectations during an organizational meeting for newly appointed office-bearers.
Debroy emphasized the influence of female activists. He claimed that 80 to 90 percent of the crowd at party events consists of mothers and sisters. He said, "Bharatiya Janata Party always gives importance to women party workers."
The state president has handed the reins of the Mahila Morcha to Moushumi Das. Das has already filled out her primary team and set the district-level leadership. Debroy expects this new squad to lead from the front. He needs the organization to gain ground at the booth level across the entire state. He believes this strategy will ensure a robust political future.
The meeting focused on defining the roles for the new leadership. Attendees included Das, the vice-president, and other newly appointed office-bearers. The party intends to increase activity at the grassroots level to maintain its grip on power.
