Kohima: More than 230 members from the Tening, Mbaulwa, and Nsong ranges gathered at the Tening Town Hall on April 25 for the first executive meeting of the 6-Tening Assembly Constituency Congress Committee. The event brought together booth level agents, village unit leaders, and senior party officials to formalize a strategy for upcoming political goals.

Peren district in-charge and NPCC general secretary Rosy Thomson urged the attendees to launch an intensive membership drive across the constituency. Meanwhile, District Congress Committee president Namrachang Hegui shared the vision of NPCC president and Lok Sabha MP S. Supongmeren Jamir. He pointed to chronic deficiencies in local health, education, and economic infrastructure, arguing that the area requires a more capable representative to overcome its reputation for being underdeveloped.

Dr. Tumda Newme issued a sharp critique of the current political climate, calling on members to maintain unity to ensure the election of a Congress representative to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly. Tarie Zeliang added that success depends on improved coordination among party workers. The meeting concluded with a formal commitment to intensify grassroots initiatives and improve party cohesion throughout the region.
