Taekwondo Pioneer U.N. Shukla Honored for 50 Years of Service

Shillong: The Meghalaya Taekwondo Sport Association and the Taekwondo Institute of Meghalaya recently held a special event at the Babu Mani Singh Gurung Auditorium in Shillong. The program honored Master U.N. Shukla, a pioneer of the sport in the state, for his 50 years of dedicated service.

During the June 7 ceremony, officials recognized the veteran instructor for his foundational role in developing Taekwondo in the region. The event also served as the official venue for the Kukkiwon Black Belt Awarding Ceremony, where 17 local athletes received their certifications after successfully passing the required testing.

Reflecting on his half-century of involvement, the organizers highlighted his contributions as a "pioneer of Taekwondo in Meghalaya." His legacy in the state was celebrated by students and peers alike at the auditorium.
