Sumi Totimi Hoho Demands Thorough Investigation into Dimapur Minor Assault Case

Kohima: The Sumi Totimi Hoho (STH) has publicly condemned the alleged sexual assault of a minor girl in Dimapur, labeling the act a severe violation of human dignity. The organization asserted that such violence is intolerable in a civilized society and insists that the legal system apply the full extent of the law to those responsible.

The organization identified the three accused as O. Wati Meren Jamir, Tsuktimongba Ao, and Akangkokba, who serves as the Gaon Bura of Unger village. The STH highlighted the gravity of the allegations against a village functionary, noting that a betrayal of public trust by someone tasked with community safety is particularly troubling.

Stating that the perpetrators must be held accountable, the group urged authorities to conduct a transparent and swift investigation. According to the organization, "justice delayed is justice denied." The STH further encouraged the public, community leaders, and civil society groups to collaborate in safeguarding the rights and future of children.

The group expressed its support for the victim and her family as they seek justice, while stressing the need for collective action to prevent future crimes. By calling for immediate legal consequences, the STH reaffirmed its commitment to protecting women and children from such violence.
