Kohima: Government Higher Secondary School Shamator hosted a science exhibition on June 15 centered on the theme, Women in Science: Catalysing Viksit Bharat. Students from across the district presented a variety of innovative projects, including models for electromagnetic power generation, vacuum technology, and solar-powered irrigation systems.
EAC Shamator Mekato J Aye attended the event as the special guest. During his address, he challenged students to look beyond textbooks and view local problems as chances to create solutions. He noted that modern technology now allows students to pursue creativity regardless of where they live.
Highlighting the broader impact of the event, Aye remarked, "every invention begins with a question and that science is not confined to laboratories or textbooks but is deeply connected to everyday life." He also emphasized that the contributions of women in science remain vital to the nation's development.
The event concluded with an inspection of the student projects and discussions between participants and officials. Attendees praised the hard work of both the young innovators and the teachers who provided guidance throughout the development of their exhibits.
