Agartala: The Indian government has promoted six Tripura State Civil Service officers to the Indian Administrative Service. The Department of Personnel and Training announced the appointments on Monday, marking a significant update for the state administration under the 2025 Select List.

The newly appointed officers are Sarmistha Datta, Bimbisar Bhattacharya, Dr. Samit Roy Choudhury, Akinchan Sarkar, Sumit Lodh, and Rajesh Kr. Das. These selections fill vacancies that occurred throughout 2025. Each officer has been assigned to the Tripura cadre and will serve on probation until further notice.

These promotions were finalized under the Indian Administrative Service Recruitment Rules of 1954 following consultation with the Tripura government. However, the official notification noted that the appointments remain subject to the results of ongoing legal cases. These include a seniority dispute currently before the Supreme Court and a promotion-related case pending at the Central Administrative Tribunal in Guwahati.
