Guwahati: The Graham Bazar Durga Puja Committee in Dibrugarh transformed its pandal into a tribute to the state’s tea history. Builders used only bamboo and natural tea bushes to construct the site. They shunned plastic to keep the project strictly eco-friendly. The structure highlights the daily lives and long-standing customs of local tea garden communities.

Manohari Tea Estate joined the effort by providing 5,000 cups of free Assam tea every day for visitors. Huge crowds are already gathering. Committee member Jitendra Srivastav pointed to the two centuries of history behind the local industry. "We have used only eco-friendly materials, and our puja pandal is attracting a huge crowd. Our theme is based on Assam tea and its 200-year-old legacy. Through this initiative, we are trying to showcase the rich heritage of Assam tea," he said.

The display links the cultural significance of the plantations to the broader history of the state. It puts a spotlight on the workers who sustain the industry.
