Dibrugarh Durga Puja Puts Spotlight on Assam Flood Crisis

Guwahati: The Masterpara Durga Puja Committee in Dibrugarh is centering this year's celebration on the wreckage left by Assam's recent floods. The theme, titled A Ray of Hope Amidst the Flood, focuses heavily on the catastrophic damage seen throughout the Sivasagar and Charaideo districts. Crowds are expected to be massive. The display highlights the grit of victims and the bravery of those pulling people from rising waters.

Organizers plan to put the National Disaster Response Force on center stage. The committee intends to honor the work of rescue teams alongside the endurance of local families. The committee president noted the duality of the installation. He stated, "This year, our theme is 'A Ray of Hope Amidst the Flood'. We will showcase the destructive floods in Assam that have caused widespread devastation. However, our NDRF personnel and rescue teams have done a great job in rescuing numerous people from the floodwaters." The finished project serves as a reminder of community strength during disasters.
