Gangtok: Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang issued a formal condolence today following widespread death and destruction in Nepal. Constant rain triggered floods and landslides, hitting the Bhotekoshi River area near the Tibet-Nepal border hardest. Families lost homes and livelihoods.
The Chief Minister sent sympathies to grieving families on behalf of all Sikkimese citizens. He also highlighted the deep bond between the two regions. "Nepal is not just our neighbouring country but an intimate nation deeply connected to us through cultural and emotional ties," Tamang stated.
The state stands with them. Tamang praised the Government of Nepal, local communities, and rescue personnel working in the disaster zones. He offered prayers for those injured and displaced, hoping for a quick recovery and strength for those managing the aftermath.
