Gangtok: Sikkim has officially achieved the status of a fully literate state under the ULLAS, or Nav Bharat Saaksharta Karyakram, national framework. Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang expressed his appreciation on Saturday following a congratulatory message from Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan regarding this milestone.

Tamang credited the achievement to the combined work of educators, government officials, volunteers, and citizens across the state. He stated, "The recognition reflects the collective efforts of educators, volunteers, officials, and citizens in achieving the milestone."

The literacy initiative operates under the national framework established by the Indian government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Looking ahead, the Chief Minister confirmed that Sikkim remains committed to further strengthening its regional education and literacy programs.
