Search underway for boy missing in Brahmaputra River

Guwahati: Seven-year-old Faridul Ali is missing after falling into the swollen Brahmaputra River. The boy, son of Afas Ali, disappeared while playing near the riverbank in Boro Nichinpur village. The village sits along the border of the Goalpara and Dhubri districts. Current was too strong. He slipped and went under.

Fakirganj Police Station officers and the State Disaster Response Force rushed to the area to start a search and rescue operation. They have not found the child yet. Search teams remain active on the water. Local residents gathered at the scene, devastated by the loss of the young boy.

Authorities are still working. Locals report the child "reportedly slipped into the swollen Brahmaputra and was swept away by the strong current." The community continues to pray for his recovery as the search efforts press forward.
