Kohima: The Satakhami Union Dimapur HQ has successfully wrapped up its inaugural district tour, a three-month initiative that spanned 34 villages across Dimapur, Chümoukedima, and Niuland. Running from March to May 2026, the outreach serves as a milestone in the organization's 33-year history since its founding in 1993.
Led by president Bokato Zhimomi and his team, the project focuses on consolidating bonds within the Western Sümi region. The group engaged in cultural exchanges and discussions with village chiefs, elders, and Kukami to promote communal harmony and preserve the heritage of the Sümi and broader Naga communities. According to union officials, the tour aims to protect their shared identity while encouraging social progress.
Zhimomi urged members to act as ambassadors for peace and to honor the legacy left by their ancestors. While the current phase of the tour is complete, the union plans to visit eight additional villages once the monsoon season ends. The organization credited local leaders for their cooperation and restated its dedication to fostering development across the region.
