Agartala: Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee inspected the modernization progress at Agartala Railway Station. The visit coincided with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. The station overhaul falls under the Ministry of Railways flagship Amrit Bharat Station scheme. Work aims to boost Tripura’s connectivity.

Bhattacharjee examined new passenger amenities and infrastructure plans. He met with officials to discuss how the station handles rising traffic. The project adds better waiting areas, sanitation facilities, digital information systems, and wider circulation spaces. These upgrades target international standards for all passengers.

"On the auspicious occasion of the birthday of India’s illustrious and visionary Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, I visited Agartala Railway Station today under the 'Amrit Bharat Station' scheme," said Bhattacharjee. He believes this plan reflects a national push for better transit.

The government wants future-ready transport hubs. This initiative serves as a major move to link Tripura with the rest of India. The goal is to improve the travel experience for every citizen.
