Protesters Demand Justice for Six Slain Naga Men

Imphal: Uripok Apunba Lup and Uripok Nupi Apunba Lup staged a sit-in protest today at the JNIMS Hospital Mortuary. The bodies of six Naga men have remained there since June 10. Frustration is mounting. Both groups expressed deep dissatisfaction with the pace of the investigation and the lack of urgency shown by Central and State Governments.

The men were abducted in broad daylight before being killed. Civil society groups and Konsa Khul villagers claim the Chairman of Leilon Vaiphei and members of the KNF-P group played a part in the incident. Protesters demanded a thorough, impartial, and time-bound probe to hold every responsible person accountable.

The organizations want results. They stated, "justice must be delivered without further delay." Both groups appealed to government officials to intensify efforts and provide closure for the grieving families.
