Imphal: Protesters gathered at the Changanggei Community Hall on June 30 to demand accountability for the abduction and killing of six Liangmai Naga civilians. The Justice for the Six Sons of Koubru Joint Committee organized the event. Several civil society groups backed the demonstration, including the Joint Tribes Council and COCOMI. Participants formed a human chain to voice their demands for justice.

Chingdinliu Panmei, state president of Rongmei Naga Luphwam, leads the committee. The group insists their protest targets the legal process rather than specific communities. They want to see the law applied fairly. Committee members stated, "Our movement was not directed against any community but aimed at ensuring impartial enforcement of the law, prosecution of those responsible and restoration of public confidence in the justice system."

The committee delivered a five-point list of demands to the government. They want the immediate arrest of the killers and the removal of Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen. They also called for the government to scrap the Suspension of Operations agreement and label the Kuki National Front-Presidential a terrorist outfit. Additionally, the group pushed for the eviction of illegal villages from protected state lands.

Protesters held signs reading "Arrest the Named Killers" and "End SoO." The committee plans to continue peaceful agitation until the government meets these requirements. They are waiting for action from state and federal officials.
