Police Seize Truck Carrying 32 Cattle in Assam

Guwahati: Bagori police stopped a truck in Kaliabor on suspicion of smuggling livestock. The vehicle, registration number AS 25 FC 8799, held 32 cattle in the cargo bay. Authorities intercepted the transport at Bagori while the driver was moving the herd from Sivasagar toward Rupohihat.

Officers detained Siddique Ali at the scene. He remains in custody while investigators verify the intended destination and legitimacy of the shipment. This bust is part of a broader crackdown on illegal cattle movement across the state. Police maintain that "further investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the transportation and the destination of the cattle."
