Guwahati: Jakhalabandha and Bagori police stopped a truck on the national highway in Kaliabor, Assam. Officers seized 30 head of cattle from the vehicle, which carried registration number AS 01 FC 7761. The haul was moving from Sivasagar toward Meghalaya. Police acted on a tip-off to intercept the transport.
Authorities detained three men at the scene. They are Hari Bahadur of Sadiya, Shahid Ali of Samatapathar in Sonapur, and Habibul Islam. Police confirmed they have opened an investigation into the matter. Officials stated, "operations against cattle smuggling would continue in the area." Investigators remain on the job.
