Guwahati: Assam Police swarmed a target near Abhayapuri market in Bongaigaon district. Officers intercepted a Bolero, registration number AS 01 FP 4705, traveling from Jogighopa. The suspects were hauling contraband. Cops found 23 containers of suspected heroin inside the vehicle.
Three men were in the SUV. Two suspects bolted and disappeared into the area. Police cuffed the third man, identified as Ashraful. Authorities confiscated the Bolero and all seized narcotics.
The investigation continues. Officers are working to track down the two men who escaped. They also aim to trace where the drugs originated and where they were headed. Police stated the current objective is to "ascertain the source and intended destination of the suspected narcotics."
