Agartala: Tripura police busted a massive drug stash on Sunday, August 9. Officers arrested Dulal Majumder and his son, Sagar Majumder, after uncovering 122.100 kg of dried cannabis hidden under their floorboards. The pair operated out of their home in the Manaipathar area, located under the P.R. Bari police station in South Tripura district.

Authorities acted on a tip-off to raid the property. A team led by SI Ratan Rabi Das, alongside SIs Niran Debbarma and Bikash Debnath, executed the search. They worked with the Belonia DCM and the Udaipur District Mobile Forensic Team to pull the contraband from the dirt. The drugs were stashed inside four plastic drums buried beneath a room.

Police seized the lot. They also impounded a vehicle, registration number TR-08-E-0656, to check for links to the trafficking ring. The P.R. Bari police station logged Case No. 30/2026 under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, citing sections 18(ii), 20, and 29. Investigators are now hunting for the source of the stash. Officials stated: "Police have launched a further investigation to trace the source of the seized ganja and identify other persons who may have been involved in its transportation or trafficking."
