Guwahati: Lekhapani and Jagun police hit the streets in a major anti-drug operation this week. They arrested two men from Parbatipur village. Officers nabbed Kiran Sharma first. They found 195.77 grams of suspected drugs in his possession.
The haul is worth over Rs 50 lakh. Sharma pointed the finger at his associate. Cops moved quickly to a home in Lidu. They found Debu Basumatary there. A search of his property turned up another 52 grams of suspected contraband. The street value sits at more than Rs 12 lakh.
Total seizures reached 247.77 grams. The men remain in Lekhapani Police custody. Officers are working to break the network. They want to find the source. According to the information available, the two suspects are currently being questioned to gather further information about the alleged drug network and the source of the contraband.
