Guwahati: Crews are wrapping up the 167.5-km highway project linking Numaligarh and Dibrugarh. The National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited confirms three of the five road sections hit total completion as of September 25. Work is nearly done.
The 39.7-km stretch from Numaligarh to Jorhat is 100 percent complete. Further east, both the 26.9-km Demow to Moran Bypass section and the 19.1-km Moran Bypass to Dibrugarh and Bogibeel Junction section also hit the 100 percent mark. Progress remains steady across the remaining spans.
The 37.8-km Jorhat to Jhanji section currently sits at 97 percent completion. Meanwhile, the 44-km Jhanji to Demow section acts as the longest package and lags slightly at 81.3 percent. This specific zone includes two major bridges where construction progress is currently 36 percent. Officials noted that once these final tasks finish, the road will "provide a continuous upgraded highway connection between Numaligarh and Dibrugarh" for commuters in Upper Assam.
