Kohima: The Chakhesang Region of the NSCN (IM) doubled down on its loyalty to the outfit’s leadership. On July 15, regional secretary Mhaseleo Rhakho issued a statement confirming a declaration adopted the same day. The region stands behind President Q Tuccu, Vice President Tongmeth Wangnao, Ato Kilonser Th Muivah, and Deputy Ato Kilonser VS Atem.
Regional leaders insist this mandate remains binding. They expressed what they described as their "unwavering support and confidence" in the current collective leadership. The group maintains that this stance reflects the true will of the Chakhesang people.
The statement focuses on core Naga demands. These include the Framework Agreement, the Naga national flag, the Yezhabo, and the push for Naga integration. Leaders claim these pillars represent the identity and political rights of their people. They hope these goals guide the path toward an honorable political solution.
Rhakho called on all national workers and the public to set aside personal grievances. He urged a shift toward reconciliation and unity. With history moving fast, the region argues that shared dedication is the only way to protect the sacrifices made by their movement.
