Shillong: National People's Party president and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma announced plans to extend the party's influence beyond the Northeast. Speaking at the party's annual meeting in Shillong, Sangma noted that increased participation from states across the country demonstrates a growing public trust in the NPP and its governance model.

Representatives from more than 14 states joined party leaders to discuss future electoral strategy and organizational growth. Sangma highlighted the importance of a broader national reach while maintaining focus on the party's vision document titled Northeast 2047: Gateway to Prosperity.

During the event, the party chief emphasized the role of the Northeast in India's development. "The rising engagement from states across India shows the growing trust people have in the NPP. We are confident of expanding our footprint beyond the Northeast in the years ahead," Sangma said.

The assembly passed several resolutions focusing on strengthening democratic governance, protecting indigenous rights, and promoting sustainable development. Party leadership also reaffirmed a commitment to increasing youth and women in leadership roles, aiming to foster collaboration across the region under the slogan One Voice, One Northeast.
