Kohima: Leaders of the Naga People’s Front (NPF) 18th Chozuba Assembly Constituency gathered at Kisama on June 13 to focus on organizational unity and the pursuit of a lasting Naga political solution. The consultative meeting emphasized the need to strengthen the party while upholding the political traditions established by former chief minister Vamuzo Phesao.

Kudecho Khamo, MLA for the 18th Chozuba AC and advisor for CAWD, framed the recent merger of the NDPP and NPF as a vital political development. During the event, Khamo stated that the merger was part of “God’s divine plan” and encouraged party members to prioritize the organization's collective interests above all else. He also promoted ongoing community initiatives, including programs aimed at fostering entrepreneurship and family prayer, while urging citizens to prepare for the upcoming Census 2027.

Attendees expressed strong confidence in the leadership of Chief Minister and NPF president Dr. Neiphiu Rio. Nuzota Swuro, a former MLA and NBDA chairman, noted that the party must remain robust to navigate current political challenges. The assembly specifically lauded Dr. Rio for his commitment to resolving the Naga political issue and his decision to appoint local leaders from the Chozuba constituency to key governmental positions.

The session concluded with the adoption of several resolutions. Party members formally pledged to support an inclusive settlement to the Naga political issue and committed to further strengthening the NPF's presence in the region under the current leadership.
