Kohima: The nursing faculty at North East Christian University in Dimapur recently hosted a one-day workshop titled The Resilient Nurse: Transforming Nursing Culture through Professional Well-Being and Strategic Change. This initiative brought together 58 delegates to explore methods for managing job-related stress and fostering a more supportive environment within the healthcare sector.
A panel of experts led the sessions, including Dr. Rachel Ao, Principal In-charge of the College of Nursing at District Hospital Dimapur, and Mezavino Hibo, Nursing Superintendent at ZION Hospital. They were joined by Dr. Alino H. Assumi, Program Coordinator for Psychology at NECU, and Lalthanzami, Deputy Managing Director of the Health School Nursing in Sinrijan.
The program addressed essential topics such as preventing burnout, navigating secondary stress, and implementing practical mindfulness exercises. The event emphasized the importance of professional rejuvenation and peer support systems to create lasting cultural shifts. According to the official press release, the workshop focused on equipping healthcare professionals with tools to manage workplace stress, foster resilience, and drive positive cultural shifts within the nursing sector.
