NNPG Calls for Unity and Forgiveness Following Recent Naga Deaths

Kohima: The Working Committee of the Naga National Political Groups (WC, NNPG) has condemned the recent killing of six Naga individuals, labeling the act as an example of extreme inhumanity. The committee, led by Convener Gen (Retd) Neokpao Konyak alongside Working Conveners Col Isak Sumi and P Tikhak, issued a statement on June 15 expressing shock over the event.

In their statement, the group noted they were "aghast to learn that the six precious lives of the Nagas were defiled to the extent that no normal human being could ever conceive." The committee argued that the incident crossed every ethical boundary and should serve as a somber reminder of the dangers inherent in human conflict.

While addressing the tragedy, the committee praised the United Naga Council for its patience and perseverance during these difficult times. The WC, NNPG emphasized that acceptance and forgiveness remain the only viable paths to coexistence. They reaffirmed their commitment to multi-ethnic harmony rather than supporting a single-sided narrative.

The organization issued a warning that it will not tolerate threats against the Naga people or policies designed to harm their welfare. They called upon all Nagas to move beyond narrow misunderstandings, urging the community to unite and reason together instead of attempting to impose factional legitimacy.
