Nagaland Police to Host 5-km Run for International Day Against Drug Abuse

Kohima: The Nagaland Police is organizing a 5-km awareness run in Kohima on June 26 to commemorate the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. The event aims to encourage collective action against substance abuse while promoting healthy living across the state.

Scheduled under the theme, "One Run, One Voice, A Drug-Free Nagaland," the race begins at 6 am at the High School Junction and ends at the Police Headquarters. Organizers expect between 500 and 700 participants to join the movement.

Registration starts at 5:30 am on the day of the event, with an initial briefing scheduled for 5:50 am. Following the run, attendees will participate in an anti-drug pledge at 7:15 am, followed by an awards ceremony at 7:30 am.

Competitive categories include Men's Open, Women's Open, Under-15, and Above-50. Winners will receive cash prizes and certificates signed by the Director General of Police. Interested runners can sign up through an online form or register in person at the venue on the morning of the event.
