Kohima: The Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland hosted the state-level Food and Feed LINK 2.0 workshop at the Capital Convention Centre in Kohima on May 29. The event brought together various partner institutions, including UNDP, CLEAN, and CESF, to foster collaboration on sustainable rural development.
MLA Dr. Tseilhoutuo Rhutso attended as the special guest, emphasizing that the initiative aims to shift Nagaland's focus from government-dependent employment to a more robust, entrepreneurial economy. He noted that while the state possesses rich natural resources and potential, rural areas have long struggled with limited access to technology, finance, and infrastructure.
The program highlights practical interventions such as coffee value addition, food processing, aquaculture, and renewable energy enterprises. According to Rhutso, these efforts are intended to turn villages into productive hubs and empower youth and women to build livelihoods within the state rather than migrating for work.
Success for the project depends on a collective effort involving government departments, private sector entities, and financial institutions. Rhutso stated that the government is committed to creating an environment that supports innovation and shared responsibility, calling for the project to grow into a long-term movement for economic transformation across Nagaland.
