Agartala: CPI(M) leaders gathered Wednesday at Dasarath Deb Bhavan in Agartala to map out their strategy for upcoming Village Committee and municipal elections. The state committee meeting, attended by national general secretary M A Baby, functioned as a formal review of recent political and economic shifts within Tripura. Party brass spent the day dissecting past actions, including the August 10 Jail Bharo protest, to isolate tactical wins and failures.
State secretary Jitendra Chaudhury remains focused on the road ahead. He plans to leverage the session to organize protests against government actions he labels undemocratic. "Those involved would not be spared and that the names of those responsible were being identified," Chaudhury said regarding recent vandalism at the Jogendranagar office. He toured the site earlier Wednesday to consult with local workers.
Violence is spiking. Opposition offices report repeated attacks, prompting leadership to promise intensified democratic resistance. The committee will integrate these regional concerns with national political directives supplied by Baby following the latest Central Committee briefing. They are prepping for the next Assembly session while bracing for a difficult campaign season.
