Nagaland Government Schools Post Strong 2026 Exam Results

Kohima: Government Higher Secondary Schools in Nagaland hit pass rates of 82.04 percent in Arts, 88.97 percent in Commerce, and 84.93 percent in Science for the 2026 HSSLC exams. The Nagaland Government Higher Secondary School Employees Association released these figures August 22 in Kohima. School Education Advisor Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome launched the report at Rüzhühkhrie Government Higher Secondary School alongside Principal Director Shashank Pratap Singh, Director Razouseyi Vese, and Additional Director Deenabandhu Panda.

Individual school performance soared. GHSS Jotsoma hit a perfect 100 percent pass rate in Arts and Commerce. PM Shri GHSS Thangjam also reached 100 percent in Commerce, while TM GHSS Kohima scored 100 percent in Science. Ten students from government schools placed among the state toppers. Pooja Bharti of PM Shri GHSS Chumoukedima took seventh in Arts, and Moaakum T Longlumker of PM Shri Mayangnokcha GHSS Mokokchung grabbed 10th in Science.

The state currently runs 57 government higher secondary schools. Of these, 56 teach Arts, 16 teach Commerce, and five teach Science. The department employs 779 people. Yhome plans to overhaul the school system by focusing on infrastructure, governance, and curriculum. Association president Yekavi Swu noted the impact of new policies on the workforce. Swu said, "The implementation of the National Education Policy 2020 had brought significant changes to educational administration and the teaching profession." The conference concluded by honoring high-achieving schools and staff.
