Kohima: Nagaland will conduct by-elections for three municipal wards on June 16. The vote involves Ward 11 in the Chümoukedima Town Council, Ward 8 in the Wokha Town Council, and Ward 9 in the Atoizu Town Council.

The state Home Department has announced a paid holiday for all registered electors living or working in these specific areas. This policy covers employees of State and Central government offices, as well as those working in banks and other financial institutions.

Officials stated the move is intended to ensure all eligible citizens have the opportunity to "exercise their franchise" without work-related obstacles. The holiday extends to all voters registered within these three wards, regardless of whether they currently reside or work outside of their respective voting districts.
