Kohima: The Naga Students' Union Bengaluru (NSUB) hosted a prayer and candlelight vigil on June 13 to remember eight Naga victims who died amid the persistent instability in Manipur. Held at Paalana Bhavana in Benson Town, the event drew more than 450 attendees.
The crowd included members of the local Naga community, church leaders, student groups, and representatives from the Karnataka Meitei Association. This gathering served as a space for collective mourning and offered a message of solidarity to the families impacted by the loss.
During the ceremony, speakers emphasized the necessity of unity and resilience. A representative from the NSUB office noted, "This vigil reflects our shared grief and unwavering solidarity with the affected families. As we gather in prayer and remembrance, we call for justice, healing, and a peaceful resolution that safeguards the dignity and well-being of all communities."
The union expressed gratitude to the Zeliangrong Students' Union Bangalore for their assistance in coordinating the event and for their commitment of time and resources to ensure the program was successful.
