Guwahati: Dibrugarh Airport will host Yatri Suvidha Diwas on June 15 to celebrate twelve years of significant growth and modernization. The event highlights the airport's evolution, which includes runway extensions, improved airside infrastructure, and better passenger amenities.

The day begins at 9:00 am with a collective rendition of Vande Mataram, followed by a cleanliness drive and a ceremony honoring housekeeping staff. Terminal areas will feature displays documenting the airport's expansion, while passengers can enjoy a range of activities, including a Bihu dance performance and an aviation quiz. Departing travelers will receive traditional greetings and chocolates, while arrivals will be gifted plant saplings.

Airport Director Bangajit Saha explained that the festivities aim to recognize the collective effort behind the facility's progress. "The celebrations are intended to acknowledge the contributions of passengers, stakeholders and airport personnel, while providing an overview of developments at Dibrugarh Airport and its role in supporting tourism, trade and connectivity in the region," Saha said.

The program also includes a free medical and eye-screening camp for passengers, staff, and drivers. These improvements align with the broader growth of the Indian aviation sector, which has seen the number of operational airports nearly double over the past twelve years.
