Dibrugarh Police Launch Major Crackdown on Crime and Drug Trafficking

Guwahati: The Dibrugarh Police in Assam have escalated their enforcement efforts, targeting both criminal activity and drug trafficking across the district. Through a series of coordinated operations, authorities have filed several cases and taken multiple individuals into custody.

Duliajan Police registered a case against Ranjit Bora, Central AGS of TAIPA, and Prahlad Gogoi, President of the Duliajan Unit of TAIPA, under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. In a separate matter, police filed charges against four local leaders including Rintu Dutta, President of Bir Lachit Sena, and Konkon Rajkonwar, President of the Duliajan Unit of ATASU. Other accused individuals in this case include Manash Pratim Gohain and Binud Sonowal.

Alongside these arrests, the department intensified its campaign against narcotics. Officers successfully confiscated 4.830 kg of suspected ganja from Ruhini Koch, a resident of Chapatali Gaon. The suspect is currently in custody as investigators work to track the origin and intended distribution path of the drugs.

Superintendent of Police Abhijit Gaurav Dilip highlighted the force's resolve to stabilize the region. Officials reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining law and order, stating that police are focused on "continuing stringent action against drug trafficking and other unlawful activities in the district." Law enforcement agencies have encouraged the public to assist these efforts by reporting criminal or drug-related information to help foster a safer community.
