Aizawl: Chief Minister Lalduhoma announced that Mizoram is eligible for Rs 650 crore in funding under the Centre's Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme this financial year. The announcement came during a workshop in Aizawl focused on the SASCI program and the Real-time System of Integrated Quick Transfers (SNA SPARSH).

Lalduhoma, who also holds the finance portfolio, noted that technological shifts have enhanced the efficiency and transparency of public fund management. He identified SNA SPARSH as the key platform for managing state funds and urged departmental officials to master the system to ensure government projects proceed without interruption.

The state previously earned a Rs 350 crore incentive grant under SASCI Part 9 due to its strong financial performance last year. The Chief Minister credited this success to interdepartmental cooperation and stated that the government is actively working to meet the necessary benchmarks to secure additional reform-linked incentives.

To accelerate project implementation, the state has delegated greater financial authority to administrative heads through a new Charter of Financial Advisers. This move aims to hasten the approval process for expenditures. Lalduhoma called on all departments to maintain strict fiscal discipline, spend sanctioned funds promptly, and finalize their SNA SPARSH accounts in a timely manner to improve overall state financial management.
