Aizawl: Mizoram has distributed enumeration forms to more than 8.42 lakh voters, marking a 96.26 percent completion rate for the state’s current Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. Chief Electoral Officer Garima Gupta confirmed on Monday that Booth Level Officers have reached the vast majority of the state's 8.75 lakh registered electors.

The revision process, which began on May 20 under Election Commission directives, aims to update voter data across all districts. So far, approximately 19 percent of the distributed forms have been collected or verified, and a similar portion has already been digitized.

Gupta noted that the primary goal is to maintain an accurate registry by including every eligible citizen while removing ineligible individuals. She explained that all residents must submit fresh applications to ensure their status is updated, stating, "The main objective of the exercise is to ensure that every eligible voter is included in the electoral roll while removing the names of ineligible persons from the list."

The enumeration phase will continue through June 28, with the draft electoral rolls scheduled for publication on July 5. The Chief Electoral Officer has urged all eligible residents to verify their details and participate in the update process.
