Aizawl: Mizoram School Education Minister Vanlalthlana inaugurated the Northeast region’s first New Age Tech Skills Centre on May 29. Located at the Government Comprehensive Model School in Aizawl, the facility aims to provide students with hands-on training in emerging technologies.

The project is a collaboration between the School Education Department, Bharat Forge Limited, and SimuSoft Technologies. Bharat Forge Limited funded the centre through its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, while SimuSoft Technologies provides the necessary technical support.

Students at the centre will receive training in artificial intelligence, robotics, the Internet of Things, 3D printing, computer-aided design, CNC simulation, and drone technology. This curriculum is designed to help learners gain industry-ready skills and early exposure to complex technical fields.

Officials stated that the new facility aligns with the National Education Policy 2020. The initiative seeks to bridge the gap between traditional classroom learning and practical, technology-driven education.
