Aizawl: Mizoram Home Minister K. Sapdanga says the success of India’s three new criminal laws hinges on how well police and judges apply them. Law enforcement must master the new framework to stay ahead of bad actors. He spoke Friday at a state conference in Aizawl meant to sharpen skills on the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam.

Organized crime is evolving. Cyber threats are everywhere. "The rise of organised crime and cyber-enabled offences demands a criminal justice system that is better equipped, technology-driven and capable of delivering timely justice," Sapdanga said. These reforms aim to speed up trials, protect citizen rights, and bring forensic science into everyday police work.

The event brought together experts from the Mizoram government, the State Legal Services Authority, and the Judicial Academy of Assam. Participants spent the day in technical sessions and debates. They need to coordinate better. Sapdanga told the room that understanding these laws is the only way to deliver fair and fast results to the public.
