Aizawl: The Mizoram State Health Care Society (MSHCS) achieved a major milestone by securing ISO 9001:2015 certification along with two prestigious national awards. These accolades recognize the organization's performance in delivering healthcare under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.
During a ceremony in Aizawl on Friday, Health and Family Welfare Minister Pi Lalrinpuii celebrated the society for earning the Best State award for beneficiary enrollment and the Best Performing Small State award for recording the highest number of bio-authentications in the 2025-26 fiscal year. The ISO certification confirms that the society meets international standards for quality management systems.
Minister Lalrinpuii praised the staff and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Lalhriatzuali Ralte for their dedication. She stated, "MUHCS has emerged as a flagship healthcare scheme for the people of Mizoram and assured that the government would continue to strengthen and expand the scheme so that it remains responsive to the healthcare needs of the people."
The government is backing this growth with increased financial support, raising the budget from Rs 50 crore to Rs 130 crore for the 2026-27 fiscal year. Since April, authorities have already released Rs 22.7 crore to cover medical claims, including expenses for treatments both inside and outside the state. Officials are now encouraging citizens to utilize the Chhawntu Call Centre and the official website to access scheme information and support.
