Shillong: The Voice of the People Party is going all in. Party leaders set an October 10 mass gathering at Polo Ground to back Batskhem Myrboh for the upcoming Shillong Parliamentary constituency by-election.
VPP president Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit confirmed the event kicks off at noon. He wants supporters from every corner of the constituency to show up. The rally aims to build momentum for Myrboh before voters head to the polls. Basaiawmoit made his goal clear: "The meeting was being organised to extend the party’s support and best wishes to Myrboh ahead of the by-election."
The seat opened up after the February death of sitting MP Dr. Ricky Andrew J. Syngkon. Party brass expects a tough fight. They are bracing for a multi-cornered contest and hope a massive turnout at Polo Ground will give their man a leg up.
